A two day cyanotype printing workshop. Over the course of a weekend learn how to use cyanotype chemicals on paper and fabric to create amazing prints with light, either sunlight or with UV bulbs in the studio.
Day 1 Cyanotype Basics
Day 1 After an introduction to the technique and looking at some examples of what can be achieved, we will quickly move to the practical, learning the basics of cyanotypes – the chemicals and how to apply them to paper and fabric, making your first prints with botanicals and other objects. How to achieve ‘perfect’ prints as well as ‘looser ones’ and get depth in your prints.
Day 2 Further Techniques
Day 2 we will continue working with the cyanotypes, trying out different techniques such as using digital negatives, adding soap to the mix and wet cyanotypes. We will also look at toning some of the prints you have made, turning them yellow and sepia. Finally, advice will be given on the care of the cyanotypes and how you could use your prints in projects.

Price
The course costs £180. This is includes some materials, such as the Cyanotype chemicals and use of UV bulbs. You will need to bring (or buy) paper and fabric and things to use as masks such as leaves, feathers, lace, etc. A full requirements list will be provided.
Complementary lunch, tea and coffee and a generous supply of biscuits will be available. Please let me know of any specific dietary requirements.
