Spend 4 days immersed in woodland and art on the edge of the Trossachs developing your own unique artwork.
Day 1 Inspiration at Tir na nOg, near Drymen
We will spend the day in the grounds of Tir-na-Nog, drawing and collecting inspiration as the basis for our work.
Although we will have use of a shelter at Tir-na-Nog, the intention is to be outside for the full day unless the weather is truly awful.
Day 2-4 Creating in Gillian’s Studio, in Balfron
Using your drawings and inspiration found on the previous day, you will develop your work on an individual basis, either on paper or fabric. This may include cyanotype, gelli plate printing, transfer printing, collage, stitch, etc. Receive personalised guidance from Gillian in a small group setting, ensuring ample individual attention.
Group Size
Maximum of 8 participants to ensure a personalised experience.

Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at helping students develop ideas from initial inspiration to working towards a resolved piece of work. It is about slowing down and taking in the details, absorbing the place and portraying that on paper or in fabric. The aim is to give you time and space to work to make your own unique mixed media or textile pieces, rather than everyone following the same project. Full support will be given, along with lots of ideas and techniques.
It is not aimed at complete beginners but at those who want to develop further and like the idea of woodland inspiration and making more thoughtful work.
Accessibility
Please note that the woodland area at Tir-na-Nog is not suitable for individuals with mobility issues. Contact me if you have concerns about accessibility, prior to signing up.
Exhibition Opportunity
There is the possibility of displaying the work you create in the Woodland Gallery at Tir na nOg at a later date. This gallery is outside.
