Taking our inspiration from the Victoria Crowe exhibition, currently on at the City Art Centre, Edinburgh, we are going to spend two exciting days exploring ideas of layering imagery and meaning onto paper and fabric. Concentrating on plants and nature, we will transfer images, create mixed media collages and hopefully add some stitch by the end.
Both paper and fabric will be covered on day one – it is up to you which you want to explore in depth on the second day.
This course is primarily aimed at those who have completed either the C&G Creative Sketchbook course or the Patchwork and Quilting course or equivalent. The aim is to give you time and space to use a technique creatively to make your own unique books or fabrics, rather than everyone following the same project. Full support will be given, along with lots of ideas and techniques. You will not go home with a finished item, but with plenty of ideas and samples to complete your project later. If you are not sure whether this course is right for you, please do get in touch.
Some fabrics and paints are included, but you will probably want to bring some of your own. A full supply list will be supplied prior to the course, along with some ideas to consider in advance.
